This role maintains staffing levels consistent with entity objectives, recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. It also plans and coordinates new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals. The position assists management in assessing departmental needs and organizational planning and development, evaluating structure, job design, and manpower forecasting throughout the company. It plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department and participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems. The role revises position descriptions as necessary, monitors performance evaluation/review processes, and revises as necessary. It oversees employee payroll processing, benefit administration, and employee relations functions (event planning). The position compiles and analyzes a variety of data (turnover, absenteeism, etc.) and develops programs/practices to address areas of concern. It engages with outside suppliers to provide employee services such as temporary labor. The role develops Employee Relations by counseling employees and other managers on various employee relations issues. It ensures compliance in recordkeeping and reporting related to all areas of responsibility, ensuring all are consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations (i.e. I-9, workers compensation claims and return to work, safety, etc.). It develops and maintains the DOT Driver certification program for their respective site. Performs other job duties as assigned by GM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field plus a minimum of 5 years of human resource experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate various types of HR software.
  • Good communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact well with employees & vendors on all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish desirable but not required.
