About The Position

The HR Manager is responsible for implementing critical HR best practices while ensuring collaboration and communication with the Operations Management team. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations strategies, as well as HR policies, programs, and practices. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the HR Manager must be a proactive, hands-on leader with a demonstrated passion for creating value through direct business impact. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal communication skills, adaptability, and strong networking, reasoning, and time-management abilities. A team player with proven leadership capabilities, the HR Manager will be a strategic partner who drives value-added HR initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of HR, talent management, or recruitment experience, preferably in the healthcare industry and in a multi-unit environment.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills that drive learning and application.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Publisher) and ability to manage presentation equipment (e.g., projectors, LCDs, audio systems).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Must be willing to work the necessary hours and schedule to meet business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous operations experience a plus.
  • Union experience highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the organizational structure by auditing and shifting personnel as appropriate.
  • Support unit leadership in ensuring compliance with employment documentation, including personnel files, I-9s, W-4s, background checks, drug screenings, and medical screenings.
  • Partner with management on employee engagement, recognition, counseling, development plans, performance reviews, and stay interviews.
  • Deliver orientation, training, and compliance programs as needed.
  • Communicate benefits initiatives and conduct educational sessions on benefit programs.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state HR regulations; conduct investigations and maintain appropriate records.
  • Foster a positive employee relations environment through consistent and equitable application of HR policies and procedures, with an emphasis on resolving interpersonal issues and promoting ethical best practices.
  • Support new business activations.
  • Support employee recognition programs, climate surveys, action plans, and engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance employee and customer relations in support of organizational growth.
  • Provide guidance and solutions to managers to build employee's capabilities aligned with strategic, tactical, and operational goals (e.g., succession planning).
  • Promote a best-in-class, continuous learning culture by developing current managers into future leaders, while enhancing engagement and retention.
  • Travel 30%-40% to support regional markets.
