Summary As a James Hardie intern, you will gain hands-on experience in your chosen field while contributing to meaningful projects that drive business results. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising junior or rising senior).
  • Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
  • Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Target majors: Human Factors Engineering, Human-Centered Design, User Experience (UX) Design, User Experience Research, Cognitive Science, Psychology (especially Human Factors, Cognitive, or Experimental Psychology).
  • Exposure to user research and voice-of-customer methods.
  • Understanding of design-research theories.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advance current AI-persona and virtual-reality research by developing research methodologies and validating project goals.
  • Help evaluate AI-generated voice-of-customer personas and establish methods for using virtual reality in consumer new-product research.
  • Collect and analyze user feedback to identify user needs, behaviors, preferences and opportunities
  • Design and execute research studies for AI personas using Human Factors and UX research methodologies
  • Develop study protocols and metrics to evaluate user feedback
  • Evaluate emerging research approaches including AI generated VOC personas
  • Validate responses from AI-generated voice-of-customer personas.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver project objectives while independently managing assigned work.
  • Identify and communicate roadblocks, resource needs, and project risks in a timely manner.
  • Prepare a final report and presentation of AI-persona validation metrics and demonstrate the developed virtual-reality research methodology.
