About The Position

The design team at Skyryse is looking for a Human Factors Engineer to join our team at Skyryse. The role is going to require someone who is a self-starter, can pace themselves while giving check-in to various cross-functional teams and executives within the company. Deep knowledge in human factors processes and practices relating to physical vehicle packaging and design is a must. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have some experience in Mechanical Engineering, designing and integrating components. This is a full-time onsite opportunity based out of our HQ in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Human Factors Engineer and/or Psychology.
  • A combined 5+ years of experience working with vehicle engineering with human factors, vehicle packaging and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Proven ability to use Solidworks and/or CATIA with experience with Digital Human Models (Example: RAMSIS).
  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple parallel-path projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working cross-functionally at a startup.
  • Proficiency with Figma, RAMSIS, and/or JIRA.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulation and procedures relating to Part 25 and Part 27.
  • Experience talking with customers and/or users.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking - using logic and reason.
  • Demonstrated conceptual thinking - creative and strategic.
  • Wide interest/knowledge of creative industry.
  • Ability to comprehend aviation experiential technology and its foray into general consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop vehicle occupant packages based off of existing vehicles (helicopters and fixed wing).
  • Perform testing and analysis related to human factors supporting everything from physical cockpit layout to the UI/UX.
  • Generate and release documentation, including test plans and test reports in support of FAA Certification.
  • Build seating bucks, simulators and other properties with the team.
  • Creating and modifying engineering CAD and drawings for parts and assemblies and creating tooling to aid with manufacturing.
  • Leverage your creative, strategic, and analytical thinking skills to push the boundaries of design and innovation in aviation.
  • Work cross-functionally with other Skyryse teams to accomplish project goals, including design, engineering, and marketing.
  • Occasionally participate in design efforts outside of your area of expertise as necessary and as your skillset dictates.
