What it's like to be a HCM Sales Associate at HCM Sales Associate As a Full-Time HCM Sales Associate at Mercantile Bank, you will play a vital role in driving success by collaborating with internal referral channels and prospective clients to present our human capital management products and services tailored for Core HCM clients. You will also manage HCM account relationships for existing MercForce clients, ensuring their needs are met effectively. Analyzing customer needs and business practices will be crucial in determining the most suitable products, crafting compelling proposals, delivering engaging demonstrations, and guiding clients through the contract process to successfully close sales. Requirements

  • To excel as an HCM Sales Associate at Mercantile Bank, candidates must possess a robust skill set encompassing technical knowledge and effective communication.
  • A thorough understanding of HCM systems is crucial for developing, promoting, and deploying sales initiatives tailored to clients.
  • Strong customer communication skills are essential for fostering relationships within branches, increasing awareness of MercForce as a viable business solution, and generating referral opportunities.
  • Candidates should demonstrate effective teamwork and partnership capabilities, especially when coordinating with internal teams for a seamless client transition to new HCM solutions.
  • Additionally, skills in customer discovery will help assess clients' needs and recommend tailored HCM solutions.
  • Proficiency in documenting discussions and tracking opportunities in the CRM system is vital.
  • Experience in proposal preparation, contractual negotiations, and competitive pricing analysis will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
  • Finally, candidates should have the ability to analyze market trends and recommend strategies aligning with business goals for sustainable growth.
  • Bachelor's degree or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree. Equivalent job-related education and/or experience will be considered if the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the functions of the job are proven

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and/or training in Human Capital Management is preferred
  • Obtaining the Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) through American Payroll and/or the Professional in Human Resources (PHR)through Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) is desired

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, promoting, and deploying HCM specific sales initiatives
  • Maintain contact and relationship ownership with existing HCM clients
  • Develop a deep understanding of business client situations to assess working capital and process improvements to recommend HCM solutions
  • Make recommendations to HCM Department Head for product, service and marketing strategy, content, as well as deployment timelines
  • Develop recommendations for marketing concepts and drafts content for client marketing communications and coordinate those with the marketing team
  • Work closely with HCM Department Head to develop and achieve annual budget and goals
