About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an experienced leader to serve as a Hull Technician Contract Instructor. The HT Instructor will provide support to the Surface Warfare Schools Command, Norfolk, VA. Lead a classroom of students through group-paced classroom and laboratory instruction of Advanced Welding, NDT of Metals Visual Magnetic Particle Liquid Penetrants and Ultrasonic Inspector, as well as assessment of competence in designated subject areas. Operate Government furnished simulators, Technical Training Equipment (TTE) and other computer-based training in performance of course instruction and provide critiques, maintain student records, conduct remediation and retest when necessary.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Advanced Welding, (A-701-0027), NDT of Metals Visual Magnetic Particle Liquid Penetrants Operator/Inspector (A-701-0033) and Ultrasonic Inspector, (A-701-0058).
  • Graduate of the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502) OR equivalent instructor training course.
  • At least 3 years technical experience in the subject matter hired to instruct.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Military Training Environment.
  • Former Senior (E5 – E9) HT with recent shipboard experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the area of safety, advanced welding techniques, non-destructive testing of metals and ultrasonic inspections used shipboard.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and naval installations.
  • Able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID, if position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous certification as instructor for Advanced Welding, Ultrasonic Inspector and NDT courses.
  • Knowledge of learning principles, practices, and methods of presentation and delivery of course content, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum, training aids, devices, electronic podiums, TTE, lab equipment, equipment operation and maintenance procedures associated with the course.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiar with FLTMPS and Navy quota control policies and procedures.
  • Possess a current certification in CPR as defined by the American Heart Association.
