About The Position

HTST Operator leads the product pasteurization during their shift and ensures their equipment is working properly. Accurate documentation and a clean, well-maintained work area are integral to this role. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $25.50 - $33.50, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. The schedule requires working every other weekend.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Understanding the overall process of the HTST system
  • Follow proper GMP’s
  • Understand how a CIP system works
  • Work consistently and effectively with maintenance and/or State inspector during ISDA audits
  • Maintain positive and effective communication during any situation
  • Be able to walk on wet floors, lift 75 lbs, and climb stairs

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe workplace and contact lead or Supervisor for any safety issues.
  • Ensure proper, legible, and accurate documentation on charts (legal documents).
  • Ensure seals are in place and document any broken or missing seals, notifying supervisor or QA if a seal needs to be broken.
  • Print CIPs immediately after washing, checking for proper trending of temp, flow, titration, and time. Swab equipment if any of these are in question and rewash if a swab fails.
  • Ensure proper cut-in and cut-out validation is done prior to production run and document clearly on the chart.
  • Understand the flow of product from Raw Milk Silo to Maturation tank, and from the Cream from HTST Separator to cream silo for troubleshooting.
  • Have a basic understanding of how a reverse osmosis membrane system works.
  • Understand the flow of whey from KDB to the clarifiers, to the silos, and then to the Whey RO system.
  • Understand how to start up, bring down, and CIP the Whey RO system.
  • Understand the job of the separator, why it is used, and how it works.
  • Pull samples for QA to test Butterfat’s on skim and cream, contacting supervisor if out of line.
  • Maintain communication with KDB and Starter Room.
  • Communicate with the fruit room to ensure cream tote needs are filled.
  • Sterilize cream totes prior to filling them.
  • Enter proper information for cream tote placards.
  • Work with leads and maintenance to troubleshoot problems.
