HSHS Nursing Scholars is provided by the HSHS Illinois Division for educational expenses up to a maximum of $10,000. By the acceptance of funds, recipients are obligated to work at an HSHS IL hospital upon graduation. The length of minimum time commitment with an HSHS IL hospital is dependent on the level of funds the HSHS IL Scholar chooses in the interview process. For the entirety of the commitment, the recipient must maintain full-time status as a Registered Nurse. HSHS IL hospitals offer dynamic and engaging new graduate nursing experiences that will positively impact a nurse’s ability to provide quality, compassionate care to patients. Registered Nurses (RNs) are incredibly important members of the medical team who have the humbling task of caring for patients. RNs not only provide high-quality medical care, but they also provide a healing touch and a compassionate presence to patients and their families during joyful, stressful and uncertain times.
