About The Position

The HSE & Training Coordinator coordinates, develops, delivers, and monitors safety training programs across Expanse operations. The position works with HSE and Operations leadership to identify training needs, maintain required training and certification records, monitor expirations, and help ensure employees are qualified to safely perform assigned work in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. When not conducting training, the position provides field and shop HSE support through observations, coaching, inspections, and other safety-related activities.

  • Identify training needs, safety concerns, and compliance gaps and communicate appropriate recommendations to leadership.
  • Coordinate multiple training schedules, certifications, deadlines, and operational priorities.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential training records and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, professional colleagues, and the public.
  • Coach employees and front-line leadership on safety requirements and practices.
  • Work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain effective communication with HSE leadership.
  • Practice and promote safe work methods, recognize workplace hazards, and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Work flexible schedules and travel to field and customer locations as operational and training needs require.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Ability to perform light physical work, including lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand and present training for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit and perform computer and administrative work for extended periods.
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, squat, kneel, and use a stepladder when required.
  • Occasional exposure to irregular terrain, extreme temperatures, heights, noise, electrical environments, and active construction or oilfield locations.
  • Ability to use required PPE when visiting operational or customer locations.
  • Day travel required; occasional overnight travel may be necessary based on training requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Training & Development, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) years of HSE experience in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a closely related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the job
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, and must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of three (3) years of driving history.
  • Must maintain a satisfactory driving record to safely operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, develop, schedule, and deliver safety training programs across assigned company operations.
  • Identify training requirements based on employee job duties, assigned work, company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Work with Operations Management, Supervisors, Foremen, and HSE personnel to identify employee and departmental training needs and gaps.
  • Develop and maintain annual and recurring safety training schedules.
  • Coordinate qualified internal and external instructors when specialized training is required.
  • Coordinate third-party training and certifications, including scheduling, locations, equipment, materials, instructors, and employee attendance.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and resources to support company and operational needs.
  • Communicate training schedules, requirements, completion status, and identified gaps to employees and appropriate leadership.
  • Maintain accurate employee training histories and supporting documentation, including certifications, cards, attendance records, and assessments.
  • Enter and maintain training information in applicable company systems, databases, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other training records.
  • Monitor completion of required training and track employee certifications, qualifications, and expiration dates.
  • Travel to company and customer locations to conduct or coordinate training as required.
  • Support training associated with applicable OSHA, NFPA, DOT, API, EPA, DOE, company, and customer requirements.
