Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HSE leadership within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA regulations, EPA permit compliance, and Workers’ Compensation administration.
  • Proficient in using data to influence and motivate change.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable goals for shop-floor associates and executive leadership alike.
  • A relentless drive to lower risk and improve IH metrics (Persistence).
  • A leader who understands that associate engagement is the key to a safe plant (Strategic Empathy).
  • The ability to find the "why" behind an incident and implement the "how" for the solution (Problem Solving).

Nice To Haves

  • Injection Molding or Plastics experience.
  • CSP, CIH, or CHMM certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Enliven a culture of safety, utilizing motivational techniques and coaching to ensure HSE is a core value for all associates.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure HSE goals are integrated into every capital project and production run.
  • Mentor line supervision and plant leadership, transforming them into effective HSE coaches within their own departments.
  • Lead site-wide risk assessments.
  • Drive "Root Cause" investigations that prevent future problems.
  • Manage all environmental permits, sample collections, and testing, ensuring the facility remains a leader in community sustainability.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Industrial Hygiene (noise, ergonomics, air quality), Contractor Safety, and Site Security.
  • Maintain and broadcast Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that drive continuous improvement and transparency.
  • Manage the HSE budget with precision, justifying investments that protect people and assets.
  • Keep the facility in a continuous state of "Audit Ready" compliance with both corporate and governmental (OSHA/EPA) standards.
