About The Position

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, aiming to deliver 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) team is crucial in managing safety across gigawatts of high-energy infrastructure, ensuring a 24/7 workforce remains safe and productive, and maintaining environmental compliance in a rapidly expanding industry. The HSE Engineer will own HSE across a leased campus with buildings in various stages of construction, commissioning, and operation. This role involves reviewing designs for hazards, implementing hazardous energy control measures, managing workers' compensation cases, and maintaining accurate recordkeeping for compliance and leadership reporting.

Requirements

Experience running site safety on a data center or heavy industrial build with shared campus elements (construction, commissioning, energized systems).
OSHA 30 Construction certification.
Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
Experience reviewing design and commissioning packages and implementing engineering controls.
Experience managing workers' compensation claims from first report through closure, working with adjusters, physicians, and clinics.
Experience building or running a return-to-work and transitional duty program.
Experience owning OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 recordkeeping through inspections or audits.

Nice To Haves

Construction safety credentials (CHST, CSP, ASP).
Professional engineering licensure (PE).
Case and disability management credentials (CCM, CPDM, occupational health RN).
Knowledge of New York construction and labor compliance (Industrial Code Rule 23, Labor Law 240 and 241).
Experience with claims and injury analytics tooling (Origami, Riskonnect, Intelex).

Responsibilities

Own HSE across a leased campus with buildings in construction, commissioning, and live operation.
Review design and commissioning packages for hazards and push for engineering controls.
Run hazardous energy control, including switching plans, LOTO, and zero-energy verification.
Own workers compensation and case management from first report through closure.
Develop and manage a return-to-work and transitional duty program.
Keep injury, illness, and environmental recordkeeping current (OSHA 300, 300A, 301 logs, state filings, permit records, claims, and near-miss trends).
