Job Overview and Purpose The purpose of this position is to oversee the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) function to create and sustain a productive work culture and safe work environment in order to avoid and minimize HSE related problems. These problems include but are not limited to prevention of human injury, environmental degradation and unsafe working conditions/practices. This is done through health, safety and environmental training, programs, and processes with a visible and uncompromised commitment to the protection of the environment as well as the productivity of the Company’s employees.

Requirements

Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty (20) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
Implementation of Safety & Occupational Health (SOH) programs across large government facilities and complex multi-employer work sites
Demonstrated oversight and management of Safety & Occupational Health (SOH) departmental staff and support subcontractors
DoD Instructions included but not limited to: 6055.01 - DoD Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Program, 6055.07 - Mishap Notification, Investigation, Reporting and Recordkeeping

Developing and Implementation Safety Management Systems / Safety Plans
Conducting Audits and Assessments
Strong presentation skills including public speaking
Deliver management briefings to client and project staff
Education and knowledge of industry-wide HSE-related information and technologies as well as new regulations and trends through continuing education, conferences, and/or periodicals, and continues to develop in-depth specialization
Serve as a Company representative to external HSE organizations.
Demonstrated history of Safety & Occupational Health (SOH) subject matter input through risk evaluations and problem analysis with provided solutions
Ability to effectively interface with multiple levels of program management, subcontractors, and client stakeholders
Demonstrate high level of interpretive thinking and mature judgment
Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets, electronic presentations and databases
Effectively demonstrate high critical thinking/reasoning ability
Strong organizational and leadership skills

CSP / ASP Certifications
Background supporting USSOCOM, JSOC, SOF components, or similar military operational environments
Background supporting defense contractor safety compliance requirements

Responsibilities

Assist with development of Company HSE standards and goals
Develop materials for HSE training, programs and processes
Provide guidance for the implementation of HSE departmental functions in regard to auditing, training, incident investigation, software, tools, Company HSE policies, procedures, and methods designed to drive the Company’s HSE culture and meet the Company’s HSE standards and goals through an expert knowledge of the Company’s HSE standards, programs, and goals
Lead teams of HSE professionals, including globally diverse teams when involved in projects
Manage the overall direction and coordination of the HSE function on Total Installed Cost (TIC) large, complex projects by identifying and approving HSE project plans and contractor pre-qualifications and their effect on contractual agreements, schedules, activities, and milestones
Liaise as necessary between the Company, client, insurance carriers and regulatory agencies in order to provide assistance and resolution in regard to audits, remedial actions and other HSE related issues
