About The Position

As the HSE Advisor, you will coordinate the planning, implementation, and maintenance of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure the highest degree of safety and environmental compliance for the company. This position is based on the production floor and logistics areas, focusing on daily issue resolution, efficiency improvements, training, safety talks, and investigations of safety-related incidents. You will support continuous improvement by monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and providing timely feedback to management and employees.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Safety, Business, Engineering, or related field + 3 years of health, safety, and environmental experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Business, Engineering, or related field + 1 year of health, safety, and environmental experience.
  • Master’s degree in Safety, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • JD/PhD in Safety, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • In lieu of degree, 5 years of health, safety, and environmental experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Experience supporting or leading safety audits, risk assessments, or incident investigations.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and regulatory reporting (e.g., EPA, MPCA).
  • Basic knowledge of industrial health and safety standards, with the ability to interpret technical procedures, regulations, and professional publications.
  • Strong written communication skills for preparing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate accidents, conduct storage and product audits, and recommend improvements to safety programs and preventative measures.
  • Assist with hazard identification, risk assessments, and the implementation of controls, including engineering, procedural, and PPE solutions.
  • Perform periodic HSE inspections to ensure compliance with company, OSHA, MPCA, and EPA standards; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure required safety training is conducted, maintain Safety Data Sheets, and manage safety-related inventories.
  • Generate and analyze safety data, support continuous improvement projects, and keep management informed of safety developments and issues.
