About The Position

This opening is with Howmet Aerospace, a world leader in investment casting of superalloys, aluminum, and titanium primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets. Howmet offers challenging opportunities for individuals to engage in growing their business, being part of a dedicated team to manufacture high-tech products safely, accurately, and efficiently. The company is currently looking for a Wax Injector to join their Hampton Structural Castings (HSC) group in Hampton, Virginia. The available shift hours are 2nd shift, M-F 2pm-10pm, with training on 1st shift, M-F 6am-2pm. The Wax Injector will be responsible for setting up and operating wax injection machines and producing high-quality wax patterns to meet both quality and customer standards.

Requirements

  • An application must include a resume and two professional references for review and consideration
  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Applicants must have at least two years of continuous experience or training
  • Recent high school or college graduates without prior work experience must provide a letter of recommendation
  • Availability for all shifts (including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift) is necessary
  • The ability to work overtime and weekends is required as schedules may vary based on operational needs; flexibility is essential
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions
  • Record data either manually or by computer as required
  • Visually inspect dies, chills, and setters
  • Operate and maintain wax injection machines and adjust parameters and machines to properly inject wax patterns, cores, chills, and setters
  • Properly load and unload dies, inserts, and setters
  • Clean and inspect dies, chill, and setters
