About The Position
The Des Moines Independent Community School District is seeking an HS Vocal Accompanist for the Activities Department. This part-time, exempt position involves playing the piano for the vocal department as needed in rehearsals and concerts, preparing music in various styles, maintaining sensitivity to ensemble needs, and notifying the director about piano tuning and maintenance. The role also includes general responsibilities such as attending work regularly, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering positive working relationships. Requirements
- Experience accompanying a vocal ensemble.
- Ability to sight read vocal scores effectively.

- Degree in music, with an emphasis in vocal or piano performance.
Responsibilities
- Play piano for vocal department as needed in rehearsals and concerts.
- Prepare music in a variety of styles and genres.
- Maintain sensitivity to the ensemble needs.
