About The Position

Provide choreography for the vocal music department. This role involves directing rehearsals, instructing students on dance steps and techniques, advising on proper movement, coordinating production music, and auditioning performers as needed. The position also requires submitting reports and activity checklists to administration, attending work regularly, maintaining confidentiality, fostering positive working relationships, assisting with other duties, and attending district-wide meetings.

Requirements

Experience in choreography in a leadership role.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in dance or music.
Experience as a high school or collegiate dance instructor or choreographer.

Responsibilities

Direct rehearsals to instruct students how to use dance steps and techniques to achieve desired effects.
Advise students on how to stand and move properly, teaching correct techniques.
Coordinate production music with music directors.
Audition performers as needed.
Submit reports and activity checklists to building and district administration as requested.
Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
Maintain confidentiality.
Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
Attend district-wide meetings as requested.
