About The Position

KIPP Kansas City Public Schools is seeking an HS Summer School Teacher to facilitate online credit recovery sessions for students. This role involves guiding students through lessons, assisting with technical issues, and using assessment data to adapt teaching strategies. The teacher will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, collaborating with administration, and supporting the school's academic and cultural environment. This position requires participation in daily school functions and attendance at critical school events.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Valid Missouri Teaching license with required certification for subject and level assigned.

Satisfactory outcome of a background check

Responsibilities

Facilitate online platform to guide credit recovery sessions for students
Ensure that students are logged in and remain on credit recovery platform for the duration of classes
Assist students with lessons as needed
Assist students with resets of lessons if students need to re-do the lesson
Use assessment data to modify short and long-term plans in order to promote all students’ academic performance
Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement
Maintain accurate records, grade book, and data tracking systems
Assume personal responsibility for student achievement
Collaborate with administration/lead teacher to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor
Establish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respect
Participate in the daily functions of the school such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties
Attend critical school events such as staff trainings, staff meetings, morning huddles, and any other parent-student meetings and events
Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines
