Grace Church School is seeking a one-year interim High School Literature Teacher. This position will involve an 80%-90% teaching load. The ideal candidate will be academically prepared and effective at teaching and designing curriculum for a rotating block course schedule of three 80-minute periods per 6-day cycle, plus a weekly 80-minute tutorial/studio period. Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning is essential. The teacher will collaborate closely with various school personnel, including the Grade Dean, School Counselor, college counselor, Learning Specialist, school chaplain, Dean of Faculty, department chair, and High School Division Head, within a team-based structure that emphasizes communication and collegiality. Active participation in a faculty culture of continuous learning, professional development, and intellectual growth is expected. In addition to teaching four literature sections (World Literature, Literature of the Americas, and two electives: "Ghost Stories of the Global South" in the fall and "Human Rights in World Literature and Film" in the spring), the teacher may also teach a section of "Introduction to World Religions" as part of the Lab Studies program.
