Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Valid PK-12 Pennsylvania School Counselor Certification.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.
Knowledge of college admissions processes, career development, and adolescent development.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the school environment.
Proficiency in using technology for counseling and record-keeping purposes.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a school counseling role preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, and personal/social issues.
Develop and implement comprehensive guidance programs that address the needs of all students.
Assist students in course selection, college applications, and career exploration.
Conduct assessments and interpret results to provide insights into student needs and strengths.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student development and address behavioral concerns.
Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and events related to college readiness and life skills.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
Serve as a liaison between students and external support services, including mental health resources.
Monitor student progress and provide interventions as needed to ensure academic success.
Stay current with educational trends, policies, and best practices in school counseling.
