About The Position

The HR Trainer is responsible for conducting training, recruiting, compliance, and staff development. This position entails a great deal of customer service and requires superior attention to detail. The HR Trainer interacts with program participants and must be familiar with the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). At all times, the HR Trainer will seek to act in accord with the principles and values expressed in the guidelines and uphold the agency mission.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand
  • Possess intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and use new software
  • Associate’s degree and one year experience performing general administrative or human resources functions or at least 2 years of experience performing general business or human resources functions and 1 year of training experience
  • Have a Washington State Driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and able to be covered on Alpha Supported Living Services’ automobile insurance plan based upon his/her driving record
  • Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training to ensure employees are properly trained to support client needs by facilitating assigned courses
  • Obtain and maintain certification/approvals necessary to facilitate classes on behalf of the agency
  • Create and distribute class schedules, training memos and other relevant documentation
  • Track and issue completion certificates; Compile and enter training records into HRIS
  • Monitor compliance requirements; run reports and analyze data; contact employees to schedule training
  • Compile, produce and maintain training materials
  • Conduct bi-weekly 3 day New Hire Orientation
  • Oversee communication with New Hires
  • Process all related new hire paperwork and create employee files
  • Follow up on and ensure all requirements are completed
  • Complete individual training requirements annually and maintain certifications and licensures, as required
  • Attend mandatory training to complete: First Aid / CPR, Blood borne pathogens, Mandated reporter
