About The Position

Under the general direction of the Human Resources Coordinator, the HR Student Assistant is responsible for providing front desk support as the receptionist. This includes greeting visitors, answering the front desk phone, and providing information and referrals. The HR Student Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and helping to establish a professional and friendly atmosphere. This position is for Summer 2026.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer employment exception: student can maintain employment without being enrolled if pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
  • Must be available on Wednesdays (preferably between 10am-4pm), as well as some availability on Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Positive attitude and commitment to customer service required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing front desk coverage to ensure customers are waited on in a professional and timely manner.
  • Handling copying, filing, and shredding of documents as needed.
  • Assisting with the collection of new hire documents, including background checks and I-9 forms.
  • Assisting with open enrollment preparation, verification, and audit projects.
  • Assisting with monitoring and maintaining immigration (I-9 form) files.
  • Collating benefits packages, handling bulk mailings, and delivering documents.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $16.45
