About The Position

The Human Resources Specialist - Clinical performs duties requiring the exercise of discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance related to employee health and HR clinical operations, onboarding, offboarding, and organization and regulatory compliance. This role applies professional knowledge of employee health practices, HR policies, and applicable federal and state regulations to ensure organizational compliance, risk mitigation, and continuity of clinical workforce operations. In addition to performing clinical employee health functions such as pre‑employment assessments, vaccinations, drug screens, blood draws, and blood and body fluid exposure protocols, this role administers colleague leave, workplace accommodations, and Workers’ Compensation processes. The HR Specialist - Clinical independently manages activities related to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Workers’ Compensation and other statutory and organization‑defined leaves as well as employee health functions including health screenings and diagnostic testing while maintaining accurate documentation, data reporting, and confidentiality of information. This role regularly applies discretion and independent judgment in matters related to employee medical information, leave eligibility, workplace accommodations, and regulatory compliance. In addition, this position supports HR operational functions, assists with onboarding and offboarding processes, and provides skilled backup coverage for all HR Specialists.

Requirements

  • Clinical background and patient care experience in the role of Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical Assistant (MA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, or other roles able to draw blood, administer vaccines, and collect specimens.
  • Active, unencumbered licensure and/or certification if required by governing body.
  • Customer service skills, including written and verbal professionalism.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities & interruptions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in employee health or hospital environments.
