The Human Resources Representative position is responsible for full-service human resources management for both hourly and salaried employees, under the oversight of the Sr. Human Resources Manager for the facility. This role involves managing employee relations, staffing, process management, training, compliance, and safety initiatives. Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of human resource principles and practices including positive employee relations, hiring, training, performance management, and employment law.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Skills in researching for legal compliance and analytic ability to formulate best practices.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively present reports to management.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and HRIS such as Lawson, KRONOS, and Sharepoint.
  • Post-secondary education at the bachelor’s level in areas such as human resources management, industrial psychology, and business administration.

  • Professional human resources certification (or demonstrated progress towards certification) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and conduct orientation and onboarding programs for new hires.
  • Promote an open door policy and an environment free of organized labor through effective positive employee relations.
  • Plan, manage, and track employee recognition and incentive programs.
  • Coordinate and lead employee engagement champions to deliver quality and meaningful activities for employees and the community.
  • Plan, prepare, and maintain employee communication centers utilizing various media.
  • Conduct investigations, prepare investigative reports, and make recommendations to resolve employee issues.
  • Assist supervisors in formulating disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct exit interviews and make recommendations for improvement based on trends or notable comments.
  • Plan and coordinate recruitment of non-exempt applicants and develop recruiting strategies.
  • Select applicants for interviews and provide support for management during the interviewing and job offer processes, as well as the automated onboarding process.
  • Manage the internal job posting process and documentation.
  • Partner with contracted agencies to align temporary staffing with business needs.
  • Maintain automated and manual human resources records and lead clerical staff in records management.
  • Prepare various reports from databases and spreadsheets for staff management, analysis, and budget management.
  • Monitor supervisor compliance with record management requirements.
  • Audit human resources records to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain leaves of absences at the local level in partnership with third parties and Store Support Center staff.
  • Prepare witness documentation and testify at unemployment hearings.
  • Advise management on legal/policy compliance.
  • Maintain non-exempt HR staff time and attendance records.
  • Lead non-exempt HR staff in job duties and projects.
  • Recommend and coordinate employee recognition programs and celebrations.
  • Assist the HR Manager in preparing the annual budget and monthly expenditures reports.
  • Prepare and facilitate HR leadership training for interviewing, equal employment opportunity, diversity, fair labor standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage facility certification programs for hourly and salaried employees, including Performance Management, learning plans, and Biz Library participation.
  • Take the lead in preparing and training staff on special projects and pilot programs.
  • Monitor and recommend actions to comply with state and Federal employment law and Company policy.
  • Provide orientation to new employees regarding required compliance.
  • Maintain employment posters in compliance.
  • Actively participate on the safety team and in accident reviews.
  • Monitor compliance of reporting requirements and make recommendations for corrective actions.
