About The Position

Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA) is a non-profit organization spanning four states that creates positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service. We provide housing for families, veterans, and low-income seniors. We provide care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, healing accountability that brings people together with restorative justice, and free HIV testing and education. The HR Recruiter is responsible for managing full-cycle recruitment processes to attract, engage, and hire top talent. This role partners closely with hiring managers and the HR Director to develop modern, data-driven recruiting strategies and ensure a positive candidate experience aligned with organizational values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with ATS/HRIS systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop strategic hiring plans.
  • Utilize modern sourcing techniques including social media, job boards, networking, and talent pipelines.
  • Ensure a high-quality candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking system (ATS) records and recruitment metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and workforce partners.
  • Collaborate with HR Director on process improvements and workforce planning strategies.
  • Stay current with labor market trends and recruiting best practices.
