We are looking for a new HR & Payroll Solutions Consultant to join our already amazing team. In this role, you will be providing highly detailed benefits and payroll support to our clients, working with them remotely and onsite at their offices to support their HR administration needs. The ideal candidate thrives in diverse environments, demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, and has a passion for collaborating to solve HR related challenges. Working directly with clients, the HR & Payroll Solutions Consultant provides HR support in several ways – you may be integrated directly with a client as their embedded Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you may provide onsite support to navigate new hire onboarding, or you may work behind the scenes providing full HR and payroll administrative support to their business operations, or all of the above. Regardless of your role with a client, you will have the full BIG Solutions - BIG HR team collaborating with you and supporting you.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or HR, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years payroll administration experience, or demonstrated HR duties in a non-HR role
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal, or regional, employment laws
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HR processes and systems
  • Proactively and consistently deliver results to our clients
  • Ability to work independently within a very collaborative work environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Must be able to engage and develop relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Must communicate a high level of trust to become an advisor to business leaders and managers

Responsibilities

  • Processes payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees; including reviewing and importing hours from time and attendance system, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
  • Implements and maintains payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with human resources team to improve payroll and HRIS processes.
  • Administers the time and attendance policy and paid leave policy for all employees.
  • Produces scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and human resources requirements.
  • Administers paychecks, deduction summaries and earnings statements for multiple clients across different states on weekly, biweekly, and twice monthly schedules.
  • Records hours worked, wage amounts and other data about each employee into a computerized payroll accounting system.
  • Evaluates the accuracy of timesheets submitted by each client and contact supervisors or individual employees when there is a discrepancy.
  • Creates new data files for new employees and submit hiring paperwork into the system to set up a payroll account.
  • Enters information into the payroll system about employee taxes, exemptions, transfers, firings and resignations as details change.
  • Responds to any errors in payroll by reviewing past records and making any wage corrections or adjustments when necessary.
  • Tracks employee absences through the payroll software and record details about personal days, sick leave, jury duty and extended leaves of absence.
  • Answers employee questions about payroll, leave amounts, tax forms and other compensation issues when asked. This may include onsite time at clients to review the payroll process and administer payroll through client systems.
  • Administers employee benefit programs including enrollments and terminations.
  • Coordinates daily benefits processing.
  • Addresses benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Oversees enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
  • Oversees maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Maintains complete electronic employee personnel files, records and other documentation for employees, including processing new employees, forms for employment status changes and maintaining timely and accurate files.
  • Coordinates pre-employment paperwork and processes.
  • Onboarding of new employees for clients.
  • Completes the client work as assigned in a professional, timely and proactive manner keeping the consulting team informed as to status of assigned clients.
  • Establishes and maintains productive and collaborative work relationships with clients and respond promptly and accurately to answer questions regarding assigned tasks; will escalate sensitive or strategic situations to Senior HR Advisor.
  • Builds positive long-lasting relationships with clients and deliver ridiculously great client service.
  • Collaborates with the HR Outsourcing (HRO) team members and leaders to meet customer needs.
  • Maintains accurate record of client hours to be billed to client.
  • Other duties as assigned.
