About The Position

This position assists with the administrative functions of the office, focusing on HR, payroll, and medical records within Hospice Services. The role involves maintaining communication with the billing department for timely and proper billing, managing accounts payable, and ensuring clinical record management. The specialist will also perform receptionist duties, order supplies, and provide secretarial support to the Administrator and office staff. Key aspects include maintaining personnel files, tracking physician orders, and handling confidential matters with effective communication and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Possess knowledge of computer software, including proficiency in word-processing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reporting daily census changes to billing department and maintaining monthly census log.
  • Facilitate proper and timely billing by maintaining lines of communication with billing department.
  • Responsible for weekly submission of accounts payable information and for maintaining system to ensure invoices are submitted and paid.
  • Clinical record management.
  • Perform receptionist duties for the office.
  • Order supplies as directed by Administrator.
  • Provide secretarial support to the Administrator and office staff as needed.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure items are updated monthly.
  • Track signed physician orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administrator.
  • Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure/JCAHO) and any subsequently required reports.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current license/certification as required.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.
  • Honor patients/residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.
  • Comply with corporate compliance program.
  • Report job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and bodily fluids and others as necessary.
  • Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection and prevention, smoking regulations, infections control, etc.
  • Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.
