About The Position

This recruitment is for one (1), regular, full-time position located in Salem, OR (4190 Aumsville Hwy SE) and is management services – nonsupervisory therefore not represented by a union. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants and may be used to fill future vacancies. Position Schedule: Standard business hours (ranging from start time and lunch time taken). This position is fully in‑person at our Salem, Oregon campus, and alternate work locations will not be available now or in the future. As the HR & Payroll Administrative Specialist you will provide administrative support to the HR and payroll departments by providing confidential human resources and technical support and information to employees, supervisors, stakeholders and the general public. This position will assist the Payroll Analyst with administrative functions through timesheet entry support, and fielding benefit questions. As well as processing confidential materials for and pertaining to human resources. The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) oversees the development of professional standards and the delivery of quality training for law enforcement officers, corrections officers, parole and probation officers, firefighters, telecommunicators, and emergency medical dispatchers. DPSST is also the regulatory agency that enforces employment and training standards for the above listed public safety disciplines and licenses proprietary security managers, security contractors and officers, polygraph examiners, and private investigators. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
  • OR An associate degree in general office occupations and one (1) year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
  • OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful candidates for this position will be subject to a computerized criminal history check. Adverse background information will be reviewed and could result in withdrawal of a conditional job offer or termination of employment.
