About The Position

The HR Operations Senior Specialist serves as a strategic partner to the Production team, supporting both factory blue-collar employees and staff members. Through data-driven insights, workforce management, and HR operational excellence, the role helps leaders make informed business decisions that enhance productivity and organizational performance while maintaining a positive employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • HRIS and employee data management in SAP SuccessFactors
  • HR reporting and people analytics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Payroll and time & attendance systems
  • Knowledge of labour laws and HR compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR designation (CHRP/CPHR) is an asset.
  • Experience working with Dayforce is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full-cycle recruiting process and onboarding for all blue-collar roles, including both permanent and temporary staffing needs.
  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day HR support across areas such as employee relations, internal communications, benefits administration, updating information in SF and Dayforce, disciplinary actions, and low-performance management, in close collaboration with the HR Manager, HR Business Partner, and Plant Leadership team.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for plant HR KPIs, with a strong focus on labour cost control, productivity, and reports (Cognos).
  • Represent the plant on People Development initiatives, including training programs, skills assessments, and employee engagement or promotions.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, developing a deep understanding of employee concerns, operational challenges, and business needs, while proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide support, guidance, and resources to help international hires and employees with their work permits and PR support as applicable, as required to support plant and organizational objectives.
  • Support performance management cycles (goal setting, evaluations, corrective action plans) for the production staff team.
  • Identify high-potential operators or technicians and support succession planning at the plant level.
  • Track training compliance (mandatory, technical, safety-related).
  • Support budgeting exercises related to labour and people costs.
  • Other tasks needed, including ordering clothing, organizing recognition events, lunch and learn sessions, etc.
  • Oversees Payroll and Compensation for the blue-collar employees.
  • Oversees Health & Safety matters (accommodation, referrals, WorkSafe NB, etc) together with the H&S Coordinator.
  • Manage labour relations (grievances, union negotiation, etc.).
