About The Position

Ascend Rehab Services is a therapist-owned, pediatric therapy organization serving children and families throughout Northern California. We provide Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Early Intervention, and School-Based Services across clinics, homes, schools, and our inclusive preschool programs. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Operations Intern who is interested in building a career in Human Resources, HR Operations, People Operations, or HRIS Administration. This internship is designed for someone looking for long-term professional growth and hands-on experience supporting HR systems, onboarding, employee records, and HR operations projects.

Requirements

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with confidential information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Interest in HR Operations, HRIS, People Operations, or Human Resources

Nice To Haves

  • Previous administrative, office, or internship experience
  • Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, or HR systems
  • Interest in pursuing a long-term career in Human Resources

Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee records within ADP Workforce Now
  • Upload and organize employee documents and personnel files
  • Process employee change forms and employment updates
  • Audit employee records for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with HR data entry and data integrity projects
  • Generate and maintain HR reports as assigned
  • Support new hire onboarding processes
  • Coordinate onboarding paperwork and required documentation
  • Assist with new hire orientation sessions
  • Track onboarding completion and follow-up items
  • Ensure employee files remain compliant and organized
  • Manage electronic filing and document retention
  • Upload and process signed documents through HelloSign
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information
  • Support HR compliance audits and file reviews
  • Support ADP implementation and optimization initiatives
  • Assist with HR process improvement projects
  • Help develop and organize Ascend's internship program
  • Create and maintain HR process documentation and SOPs
  • Support procurement and administrative workflows as needed
