About The Position

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person. We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Operations College Aide to support our HR & LR Unit. The role will involve assisting with career counseling, internship program development and maintenance, and the creation of a mentorship program. The ideal candidate will help ensure program accuracy and support the development of initiatives that promote diversity and compliance.

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
  • Office of Chief Medical Examiner does not provide sponsorship for international employees for visa applications, extensions, or status changes, including STEM/OPT visas.
  • Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all qualifying requirements for this position at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study (for Assignment Level II and III).

Responsibilities

  • Providing career counseling and guidance to interns and staff.
  • Developing, coordinating, and maintaining internship programs.
  • Assisting in the creation and implementation of a mentorship program.
  • Supporting compliance with Executive Orders related to employment and diversity initiatives.
  • Assisting with data collection, tracking, and reporting related to HR programs.
  • Collaborating with HR team members on various projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate meetings, appointments, and other HR related events.
  • Compile, organize, and maintain accurate employee data from HR systems and spreadsheets to support day-to-day HR operations and reporting.
  • Performing administrative tasks to support HR operations and program development.
