About The Position

The HR Leader- Canada Operations is a key leadership role responsible for leading HR for our Canada Operations teams. This role is End to End HR Leadership for our Manufacturing Facility in Mt. Royal manufacturing & Corporate Support Functions (Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Development, Logistics). This role will focus on developing and driving the HR strategy, managing talent, overseeing engagement, developing and maintaining site specific policies and practices, as well as ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. This role will also lead efforts around people development, talent pipeline, organization development and effectiveness, and change management. This role will lead a team of HR professionals and will act as a strategic business partner and member of the leadership team. The HR Leader – Canada Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the end-to-end HR function and HR Operations team across Canada. This role supports two primary client groups: (1) Corporate Support Functions (e.g., Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Development, etc.) representing ~100 employees, and (2) the Mount Royal manufacturing site with 1,000+ employees. The HR Leader will shape and execute the HR strategy by leveraging data analytics, leading talent and engagement programs, establishing site-specific policies and practices, and driving strategic initiatives and projects—while ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations. The role also provides leadership in people development, talent pipeline planning, organizational effectiveness, change management, and workforce programs that advance business objectives. This position leads a team of HR professionals and serves as a strategic business partner and member of the Canada leadership team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of dynamic Human Resource Experience
  • Proven experience in leading HR teams and developing HR strategies that drive business results.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or operations environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Experience navigating matrixed environments
  • Strong knowledge of local employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and communicate with all areas within HR
  • Ability to influence and align stakeholders and strategy around talent capability and behaviors.
  • Ability to analyze complex HR data and develop insights to inform decision making; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business acumen; ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other key stakeholders through data and insights
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage teams and lead through others

Responsibilities

  • Own and implement human resource processes including the following: Workforce planning, Compensation Administration, Organizational Change/Effectiveness, Process Improvement, Staffing and Pipeline Development, Training Opportunities, and Organizational Development
  • Drives talent development, engages with the business to drive staffing plans, proactively manages staffing levels and talent moves within and across functions, and owns succession plan development for key leadership roles
  • Partner with site leaders to actively lead and resolve performance issues proactively, minimizing any risk. Evaluate Employee Relations on macro and micro level to identify any trends and regularly train managers and team leaders on applicable processes and communication channels.
  • Ensure to demonstrate Kraft Heinz’s mission, values, and initiatives and act as a change champion and credible partner in driving big cultural initiatives such as Management by Objectives (MBOs), continuous Improvement and process mapping, as well as ensuring Meritocracy happens at all levels of the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and advocate for their job enrichment, engagement, and development
  • Champion the application and interpretation of HR systems, policies, and programs ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws
  • Analyze and leverage HR metrics and data to inform business and talent decisions, as well as drive HR initiatives, including talent management and organizational design; provide budgeting oversight and control for people related costs.
  • Evaluate business challenges while developing and recommending solutions
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and development opportunities to ensure the team is equipped to deliver high quality support to the business.
