About The Position

The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting both the corporate office and supported dental practices by delivering comprehensive human resources services. This role combines traditional HR generalist responsibilities with recruiting support to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains high-quality talent. The ideal candidate has experience in healthcare and multi-location environments, strong knowledge of California employment laws (and other states as applicable), and a hands-on approach to recruiting and employee relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2 years or more of HR Generalist experience
  • Demonstrated recruiting experience required
  • Experience in healthcare, dental, or multi-location service environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of California employment laws strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficient in HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for managers and employees
  • Provide guidance on performance management, coaching, and corrective action
  • Assist with investigations and documentation of employee concerns
  • Support conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including CA labor law if applicable)
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS accuracy
  • Support leaves of absence administration (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, etc.)
  • Assist with wage and hour compliance, including exempt/non-exempt classification
  • Coordinate unemployment claims and employment verifications
  • Facilitate onboarding process for new hires
  • Conduct new hire orientations
  • Support training initiatives and leadership development
  • Assist with performance review cycles
  • Support benefits enrollment and employee inquiries
  • Assist with compensation benchmarking and job description updates
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate processing
