HR Generalist

LaborupMcDonald, TN
$90,000 - $120,000Hybrid

About The Position

We're hiring an HR Generalist for our advanced manufacturing company. We produce precision components with specialty materials for the aerospace and defense industries, a dynamic market where demand keeps climbing and the work has to be right the first time. The company is in a period of rapid growth: new employees across the plant, new equipment, and new customers. We need an HR professional who can help the organization keep up. This is a true generalist seat. You'll run day-to-day HR across the company – onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, HRIS records, and performance review support — and provide structural support for recruiting as we staff our manufacturing and floor technician teams. The role splits time between the office and the production floor, working with everyone from entry-level technicians to executives.

  • 5+ years of generalist HR experience
  • HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment law
  • Hands-on experience maintaining an HRIS system
  • Experience coordinating recruiting and interview logistics
  • Experience supporting employee benefits administration
  • Comfortable working with floor technicians through executives

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field
  • Experience recruiting manufacturing or skilled-trades roles
  • Payroll and benefits system administration experience

  • Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing background
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • HRIS maintenance: Keep employee records and HRIS data accurate and audit-ready.
  • Compliance: Administer HR processes under federal, state, and local employment law.
  • Audits & reporting: Support audits, workforce reporting, and record retention requirements.
  • Recruiting support: Coordinate postings, interviews, and candidate communication for hiring managers.
  • Performance reviews: Track review cycles and support training and development programs.
  • Policy administration: Maintain the employee handbook and communicate policy updates.
