As the Human Resources Generalist, you’ll be an accessible and trusted resource for employees and managers while partnering closely with Sabey’s HR team and external partners. Your work will span recruiting and onboarding, benefits administration, leave and workplace accommodations, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and employee separations. This salaried, non-exempt role is well suited for an HR professional who enjoys variety, values strong relationships, and can balance employee support with sound judgment, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, a directly related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of human resources administration experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with an HRIS and payroll system; ADP Workforce Now experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, candidates, and business partners at all levels.
  • Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to remain calm and professional when navigating sensitive or high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • A detail-oriented approach and commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the broader HR team.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth, including an aptitude and willingness to learn and utilize AI tools and technology.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or another HR-related certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with talent acquisition, hiring managers, and recruiting partners throughout the hiring process, including job description development, candidate screening, interviews, background checks, and pre-employment drug testing.
  • Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding, including involuntary employee separations.
  • Serving as an accessible first point of contact for employees and managers with HR questions, workplace concerns, and employee relations matters.
  • Receiving, documenting, assessing, and responding to employee relations matters while escalating complex, sensitive, or higher-risk issues to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Conducting and supporting objective workplace investigations and partnering with management and HR leadership on corrective action.
  • Supporting the administration of Sabey’s employee benefit plans, including employee and carrier questions, annual open enrollment, and benefit invoice review and reconciliation.
  • Serving as a primary HR contact for employee leave requests and helping coordinate leaves of absence with employees, managers, Payroll, benefit providers, and other partners.
  • Supporting the interactive process for return-to-work requirements and workplace accommodation requests in partnership with HR leadership and management.
  • Providing guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, practices, and applicable employment requirements.
  • Supporting policy development, regulatory reporting, affirmative action planning, and HR-related audits.
  • Partnering with HR leadership on performance management, compensation, training and development, talent assessment, employee relations, and initiatives that strengthen a culture aligned with Sabey’s core purpose and values.
  • Helping plan company meetings, employee appreciation activities, holiday parties, and other company events.
  • Building strong professional relationships across Sabey’s business locations and units while handling sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Traveling as needed, estimated at approximately 10%–15%.
