About The Position

The HR Director serves as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and is responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources across multiple manufacturing operations. This position directly supervises the HR Coordinator and is responsible for the development, performance, and effectiveness of the Human Resources function. This role oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, performance management, organizational development, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader with experience driving organizational change, implementing scalable HR processes, and partnering with leadership teams in high-growth and/or private equity-backed environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, preferably within manufacturing or multi-site operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading employee relations, organizational development, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and compliance programs.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with executive leadership to drive business objectives through people strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience utilizing HR metrics and data to support decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting a private equity-backed organization.
  • Experience leading organizational change, business transformation, integration, restructuring, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience implementing new HR programs, policies, processes, and systems that drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience scaling HR processes and infrastructure to support growth and operational excellence.
  • Multi-site manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or organizational integration efforts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute people strategies that support organizational growth and operational objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, succession planning, and change management.
  • Develop HR metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support business decisions.
  • Directly supervise and develop the HR Coordinator, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.
  • Establish priorities and delegate responsibilities to ensure efficient execution of HR operations and employee support activities.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented HR function that supports employees, managers, and business objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development for direct reports.
  • Identify opportunities to expand HR capabilities and support future departmental growth.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance management issues, and conflict resolution efforts.
  • Coach managers and supervisors on leadership effectiveness, accountability, communication, and employee development.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, employee feedback programs, and retention strategies.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting for hourly, professional, and leadership positions.
  • Develop recruiting strategies to improve applicant flow, hiring quality, and workforce stability.
  • Manage compensation structures, annual merit planning, market analyses, and pay equity reviews.
  • Oversee benefit programs, retirement plans, leave administration, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, ACA, COBRA, and applicable state employment laws.
  • Manage HR audits, policy development, handbook administration, and regulatory reporting.
  • Partner with legal counsel on complex employment matters and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee HRIS administration, payroll support, onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HR processes.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and HR documentation.
  • Design and implement performance management, leadership development, and employee training programs.
  • Support succession planning and career development efforts across the organization.
