About The Position

NBCUniversal offers Academic Year internships where students work on real projects, contribute to a collaborative culture, and gain support for growth across two full semesters. The program focuses on providing meaningful work and skill-building opportunities in media, entertainment, and technology. Internships are paid and include benefits such as paid time off for mental health, academic exams, and personal holidays, networking and professional development, a complimentary Peacock subscription, free admission to Universal Parks, and access to mental health resources. The program runs from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027, requiring 16-24 hours per week, with schedules accommodating course loads. All opportunities are onsite in Universal City, CA. Potential placement areas include Operations & Technology HR, focusing on HR projects like onboarding, rewards, performance feedback, talent attraction, and problem-solving in Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Data Analytics. Another area is TV Programming – Inclusion, where interns assist with script coverage, analysis, social media strategy, and internal reporting for NBCU LAUNCH. Universal Entertainment HR offers exposure to enterprise-level HR work, contributing to workforce analytics, reporting, and HR operations across Film, Television, and Entertainment, providing practical skills in data analysis, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to self-start and streamline
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional communication at all levels
  • Well-organized with strong time management & multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders & balance numerous projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills (for TV Programming, Inclusion)
  • Social media savvy and awareness of latest global trends (for TV Programming, Inclusion)
  • Script coverage experience (for TV Programming, Inclusion)
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop (for TV Programming, Inclusion)
  • Film/TV/Media majors (for TV Programming, Inclusion)

Responsibilities

  • Work on real projects and contribute to meaningful work
  • Gain exposure to HR projects spanning onboarding, rewards and recognition, performance feedback, talent attraction and development, and HR’s business impact (Operations & Technology HR)
  • Help solve problems involving Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Data Analytics (Operations & Technology HR)
  • Work closely with Executive Assistants and Coordinators to write script coverage of materials from current and alumni talent (TV Programming – Inclusion)
  • Draft summaries and provide analysis (TV Programming – Inclusion)
  • Work with the team in creating and posting social media on a weekly basis (TV Programming – Inclusion)
  • Discover NBCUniversal content, write copy, and design the social media strategy for posts across different platforms (TV Programming – Inclusion)
  • Design, develop, and contribute to the monthly internal report out, as well as other tasks (TV Programming – Inclusion)
  • Actively contribute to real, high‑impact projects across workforce analytics, reporting, and HR operations (Universal Entertainment HR)
  • Help inform decision‑making across Film, TV, and Entertainment (Universal Entertainment HR)
  • Build practical skills in data analysis, project management, and cross‑functional collaboration (Universal Entertainment HR)
