About The Position

As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you’ll work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth across two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while building essential skills. It's an environment designed for learning and growth for individuals who are curious, driven, and excited about media, entertainment, and technology. The internships are paid and offer additional benefits such as paid time off for mental health, academic exams, and personal holidays, robust networking, learning and professional development opportunities, a complimentary Peacock subscription, free admission to Universal Parks, and access to mental health resources including counseling sessions. The program runs from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027, requiring 16-24 hours per week, with opportunities located in Universal City, CA.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Interest in the HR field, corporate communications and culture, and/or employee engagement.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to self-start and streamline.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional communication at all levels.
  • Well-organized with strong time management & multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders & balance numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with SAP a plus.
  • For TV Programming, Inclusion: Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • For TV Programming, Inclusion: Social media savvy and awareness of latest global trends.
  • For TV Programming, Inclusion: Script coverage experience preferred, but not required.
  • For TV Programming, Inclusion: Proficient in Adobe Photoshop preferred, but not required.
  • For TV Programming, Inclusion: Film/TV/Media majors preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • For Operations & Technology HR: Have exposure to HR projects that span onboarding, rewards and recognition, performance feedback, talent attraction and development, and HR’s business impact.
  • For Operations & Technology HR: Help solve problems involving Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance and Data Analytics.
  • For TV Programming – Inclusion: Work closely with Executive Assistants and Coordinators to write script coverage of materials from current and alumni talent.
  • For TV Programming – Inclusion: Draft summaries and provide analysis.
  • For TV Programming – Inclusion: Work with the team in creating and posting social media on a weekly basis.
  • For TV Programming – Inclusion: Discover NBCUniversal content, write copy, and design the social media strategy for posts across different platforms.
  • For TV Programming – Inclusion: Design, develop, and contribute to the monthly internal report out, as well as other tasks.
  • For Universal Entertainment HR: Actively contribute to real, high‑impact projects across workforce analytics, reporting, and HR operations that help inform decision‑making across Film, TV, and Entertainment.
  • For Universal Entertainment HR: Gain visibility into how HR operates at scale while building practical skills in data analysis, project management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
