About The Position

NBCUniversal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies, creating world-class content across film, television, and streaming, and bringing it to life through global theme park destinations, consumer products, and experiences. The company owns and operates leading entertainment and news brands including NBC, NBC News, NBC Sports, Telemundo, Bravo, and Peacock, and produces and distributes filmed entertainment through Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, Focus Features, and Universal Studio Group. NBCUniversal also operates theme parks worldwide through Universal Destinations & Experiences. As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth over two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while building valuable skills. The program runs from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027, requiring 16-24 hours per week, with opportunities located in New York, NY.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
  • NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Interest in the HR field, corporate communications and culture, and/or employee engagement.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to self-start and streamline.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional communication at all levels.
  • Well-organized with strong time management & multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders & balance numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver messaging to large audiences through town halls and newsletters (Change Communication).
  • Design, create, and deliver the upgrade of the Global Finance Operations online site (Change Communication).
  • Maintain and update databases and distribution lists (Corporate Inclusion).
  • Regularly communicate and maintain relationships with 200+ leaders and Corporate Inclusion practitioners across the Company (Corporate Inclusion).
  • Create and maintain key resource documents for internal and external audiences (Corporate Inclusion).
  • Assist with events including handling guest registration and logistics (Corporate Inclusion).
  • Deepen understanding of employee relations and volunteering along with philanthropy and cause marketing (Corporate Social Responsibility).
  • Build skills and gain experience as a researcher, event planner, marketer, and communicator (Corporate Social Responsibility).
  • Support the research function (Executive Search).
  • Contribute to proactive talent pipelining (Executive Search).
  • Contribute to market mapping initiatives (Executive Search).
  • Contribute to overall knowledge management for the team (Executive Search).
  • Help revamp the new hire orientation (NBCU Local Human Resources).
  • Assist with professional development programs (NBCU Local Human Resources).
  • Support compensation planning (NBCU Local Human Resources).
  • Participate in performance management meetings (NBCU Local Human Resources).
  • Assist with transactions (NBCU Local Human Resources).
  • Aggregate Learning and Development initiatives (NBCU Local Human Resources).
  • Participate in creating and launching engagement events (NBCU Local Human Resources).
  • Support end user training deliveries for the global SAP S/4HANA implementation (Project Keystone) (Training Coordination).
  • Planning, scheduling, facilitating enrolment, communication, coordination of Program material distribution, organization for classrooms onsite, and virtual support in conjunction with local technology, HR, and facilities contacts (Training Coordination).
