About The Position

National Heritage Academies (NHA) is seeking a paid, in-person HR Credentialing & Compliance Intern for the summer at their Grand Rapids Service Center. This internship is designed for college students or recent graduates and offers a unique perspective into the human resources field. NHA is a charter school management company committed to transforming lives by helping students build the knowledge, character, and skills they need to succeed. The Service Center in Grand Rapids is where the behind-the-scenes operations occur, supporting NHA's schools.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail.
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team or independently.
  • Good communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the substitute teacher certification process, including license renewals and managing conviction disclosure forms.
  • Evaluate employment transcripts, education units, credentials, and other records to assess applicant eligibility and placement.
  • Manage the renewal process for licensed employees, including drafting and delivering communications, receiving and reviewing employee licensed documentation, and updating employee records.
  • Oversee the database of employee licensure and audit it for accuracy and currency.
  • Assist with compliance for state and authorizer reporting and audits.
