About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to business leaders, aligning HR strategies with organizational goals. The HRBP partners with management to drive workforce effectiveness, employee engagement, compliance, and talent outcomes while ensuring consistent application of HR policies and practices. This position is onsite at Pinto Valley Mine in Miami, Arizona, working Monday through Thursday (4-10's) and on-call every 6th weekend (remote and as needed for support).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree combined with 3+ years of progressive HR experience OR High school diploma combined with 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • HRBP or generalist responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Ability to perform employee investigations
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Strong communication and coaching skills
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Confidentiality and professional judgment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management
  • Translate business objectives into people strategies that improve performance and retention
  • Support leaders with data‑driven insights related to workforce trends and metrics
  • Advise managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, and workplace investigations
  • Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and company values
  • Support grievance resolution and conflict management
  • Partner with leaders on recruitment strategy, succession planning, and talent development
  • Support onboarding and assimilation of new hires
  • Identify high‑potential employees and development opportunities
  • Facilitate performance management processes
  • Coach leaders on goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and action planning
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain documentation related to employee actions and investigations
  • Partner with Legal and Safety as needed on compliance and risk mitigation
  • Support employee leave cases, including FMLA, STD, state mandated leave programs, personal leaves, and other job‑protected or discretionary leaves as required
  • Advise leaders and employees on leave eligibility, coordination of benefits, return‑to‑work expectations, and required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable leave laws and regulations and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Partner with HR Leadership and Legal to evaluate reasonable accommodations and return‑to‑work options
  • Support organizational change initiatives and workforce transitions
  • Reinforce company culture and values through HR practices
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
