About The Position

Zions Bancorporation is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner located in their downtown Salt Lake City, UT office. This role involves handling all HR matters for an assigned division or area of the company, focusing on improving work relationships, building engagement, increasing productivity, and attracting and retaining talent. The HR Business Partner will also facilitate change management and organizational development activities, partner with management on HR services and programs, and contribute to the annual HR strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s in human resources, Business or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in employee relations, employee retention, human resource process and procedures, unemployment, workers compensation, FMLA, local, state and federal laws and requirements or other directly related experience.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, principles, applications, methods, and laws.
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple Human Resource disciplines.
  • Flexible, team-player able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Solid presentation, conflict resolution, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service, influence and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity and creativity to changing needs and situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information daily.
  • Possess strong initiative, follow-up, feedback and timely decision-making skills.
  • Strong MS Office and HRIS skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with organizational development and change management projects preferred.
  • Supervisory or Leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to supervise or lead lower-level HR staff.
  • Ability to champion HR programs despite resistance.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all HR matters for an assigned division or area of the company.
  • Improve work relationships, build engagement, increase productivity, attract, and retain talent within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Facilitate and assist with implementing change management & organizational development activities.
  • Partner with management to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of HR services/programs.
  • Provide support to develop annual HR strategic plan, budget, and initiatives for the assigned business.
  • Partner with Business Leaders to define a Talent Identification & Management strategy/approach that works for their specific group.
  • Counsel and coach leaders and employees on various matters.
  • Communicate to managers and employees relevant changes in HR policies and programs.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, performance interventions, job design, and employee relations).
