About The Position

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a hands-on partner to site leadership, supporting both union and non-union associates. This role drives the execution of people strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring compliance, workforce effectiveness, and a positive employee experience. The HRBP provides guidance across employee relations, labor relations, talent management, performance ownership, and organizational effectiveness within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR partner/generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting a unionized population, including grievance handling and contract interpretation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with others authentically, establish trust, and influence at all levels.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with site leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers on leadership effectiveness, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Partner with leaders to drive talent processes including hiring, onboarding, development, and succession planning.
  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and corrective action.
  • Partner with hiring managers and talent acquisition team to strategize search approaches and assist in recruiting processes to include preparation of job descriptions, identifying key competencies, interviewing, and offer formulation.
  • Identify skill gaps and support training and development initiatives to enhance workforce capability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, conducting investigations and resolving issues in a timely, fair, and compliant manner.
  • Support labor relations activities including contract interpretation, grievance management, and participation in union discussions.
  • Lead and support change management initiatives, including organizational changes, workforce transitions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as a critical liaison between local operations, functional partners, and corporate HR/Shared Services, driving alignment and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies.
