About The Position

Hyundai MOBIS Parts America (MPA) is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner II, Field for its Tacoma PDC facility. MPA, a subsidiary of Hyundai MOBIS, is a leading automotive parts supplier providing after-sales service parts support for Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, and Genesis. The MPA Accessories division also develops accessories for these brands. The HR Business Partner, Field will support HR operations across all PDC locations by assisting with Employee Relations (ER) programs, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements in HR, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, Security, and employment best practices. This role involves collaboration with Workers’ Compensation, Safety, and Security administrators, requiring cross-training for coverage. The HRBP will monitor company policies, provide practical support to PDC and corporate personnel, and maintain a positive and safe workplace, emphasizing ethical conduct and professionalism.

Requirements

3 to 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Industrial Relations Specialist.
3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist or HRBP in Employee Relations.
Experience in job analysis, Employee Relations, and HR consulting.
Experience administering multi-state programs for exempt and non-exempt employees.
Bachelor’s Degree in HR or equivalent; combination of work experience and education will be considered.
Intermediate proficiency with software applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proven analytical and mathematical abilities.
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

Investigate employee complaints, gather statements, review evidence, maintain investigation logs, and draft summaries and findings for management review.
Advise management on appropriate actions while ensuring compliance with EEO laws.
Support managers with disciplinary actions and prepare Disciplinary Action Notices (DANs) consistent with investigation outcomes and company policy.
Partner with PDC managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues through coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
Escalate complex employee relations matters to Corporate Employee Relations.
Coordinate closely with Corporate Employee Relations to ensure consistency in case management and policy interpretation.
Manage employee separations and conduct exit interviews.
Provide guidance to management regarding employment law compliance, EEO requirements, and anti-harassment policies.
Implement and reinforce companywide safety programs, training initiatives, and Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP).
Coordinate safety training and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Partner with PDC management to address safety concerns promptly.
Ensure weekly safety audits are completed and corrective actions are implemented.
Conduct audits of prevention efforts to verify compliance.
Ensure identified safety hazards are resolved and documented appropriately.
Participate in local Safety Awareness Teams and maintain meeting documentation and follow-up actions.
Participate in Corporate Safety Team meetings and communicate relevant updates locally.
Investigate employee safety concerns and ensure timely resolution.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the EHS system and provide training and reporting support.
Ensure all prevention efforts, safety training, and documentation are uploaded into the EHS system.
Serve as a local SME on safety policies, training programs, IIPP requirements, and procedures.
Ensure all employees, supervisors, and managers receive safety training.
Act as liaison between local management and Corporate Safety teams.
Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations related to HR, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, Security, and employment practices.
Partner closely with the Safety and Workers' Compensation Supervisor to support safety and WC programs.
Act as the site's safety gatekeeper and escalate concerns to Corporate Safety as needed.
Ensure employees and managers are trained on injury, illness, and accident reporting procedures.
Conduct and ensure complete investigations for all workplace injuries, illnesses, and accidents.
Verify all documentation, physician notes, and supporting information are uploaded into the EHS system.
Maintain ongoing communication with injured employees and support return-to-work processes.
Partner with the Workers’ Compensation Manager to manage claims, reduce exposure, and control claim costs.
Escalate complex claims requiring additional investigation or immediate attention.
Conduct New Hire Orientation for PDC employees on a bi-weekly basis.
Partner with recruiting teams and hiring managers, including participation in Recruiting Tracker meetings.
Support onboarding activities including offer letters, background checks, I-9 verification, and badge/access setup.
Participate in interviewing and candidate screening as requested.
Provide onsite HR support and partner with Corporate HR regarding benefits, leave administration, and HR operations.
Maintain knowledge of federal and state employment laws including EEO, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, CFRA, FEHA/CRD, OSHA, and related regulations.
Support compliance across PDC and Corporate locations.
Demonstrate ethical leadership and professionalism.
Travel as needed to support business operations.
Provide multi-site HR support across PDC locations.
Train managers and employees on HR, Employee Relations, Workers’ Compensation, Security, and Safety programs.
Collaborate effectively with all HR team members.
Provide timely support to management and employees for planning, problem-solving, and employee relations matters.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws relating to HR, Employee Relations, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, Security, and Recruiting.
Investigate employee complaints, including safety concerns, workers’ compensation issues, harassment, discrimination, and pay concerns, within established timelines.
Prepare accurate reports and responses to government agencies and internal stakeholders.
Support development, revision, and maintenance of Employee Relations policies and procedures.
