About The Position

The HR/Benefits Assistant provides administrative support to the Company's employees by assisting with benefit administration, responding to benefit-related inquiries, processing employee changes, supporting payroll and benefit activities, and maintaining accurate Human Resources records. This role helps ensure employees receive timely, accurate, and professional HR services throughout their employment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of six months of experience in an administrative or Human Resources support role.
  • Ability to learn and follow detailed policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform detailed administrative work with a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new processes, systems, benefit programs, and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive employee information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet established deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting Human Resources, payroll, or employee benefits administration preferred.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, or benefit administration systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service by responding to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, and Human Resources programs.
  • Assists employees with benefit eligibility, enrollment, and qualifying life event changes.
  • Conducts benefit enrollment for newly hired employees and provides education regarding available benefit programs.
  • Prepares and distributes benefit enrollment materials, required notices, and employee communications.
  • Processes employee status changes and maintains related Human Resources and benefits documentation.
  • Maintains employee records and ensures information is accurately entered and updated within HRIS and benefit administration systems.
  • Assists with payroll and benefit reconciliations to support accurate payroll processing and benefit administration.
  • Assists with benefit eligibility reporting, routine audits, and data validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee records.
  • Supports annual Open Enrollment activities, including employee communications, enrollment processing, and post-enrollment follow-up.
  • Coordinates required benefit documentation, including employment verifications, mandatory medical support notices, and other employee correspondence.
  • Assists the Benefits Director with research initiatives, reporting, audits, and special projects.
  • Performs general administrative duties, including preparing documents, scanning, filing, and maintaining Human Resources records.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to work additional hours during Open Enrollment, payroll processing, and other peak business periods, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
