About The Position

Facilitates activities from candidate acceptance to the onboarding process while also providing HR customer assistance for employees and managers throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • 2 years prior experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to relate to a wide variety of applicants and customers.
  • Organizational skills to maintain record and ensure compliance with programs, policies and procedures.
  • Critical thinking skills required to report and resolve issues.
  • Analytical ability to review quality data and trends.
  • Initiative to begin and complete projects and work independently.
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and demonstrate integrity, honesty and a sense of mission and loyalty.
  • Must have a pleasant demeanor, professional appearance, and be effective in time management skills.
  • Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing the on-boarding process for all assigned departments including new hire paperwork, payroll data entry, file management, scheduling of orientation, student management, badge processing and manager notifications.
  • Accurately maintains term files and termed I-9 documents.
  • Act as a liaison to new hires throughout the on-boarding process and be available to assist with any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Responsible for accurately processing badges for all assigned departments.
  • Order office supplies upon request.
  • Responsible for the department mail.
  • Effectively provides clerical/receptionist support for Human Resources.
  • Consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of hospital benefits, policies and procedures and gives accurate information including direction to the ADP portal, Form Web or benefit web-sites. Refers to other staff when appropriate.
  • Accurately maintains personnel files. Including destruction of documents per policy and documentation on various excel files as needed.
  • Effectively assists applicants with password assistance to HR systems.
  • Participates in employee celebrations such as retirement parties, Christmas cards, Angel Tree, birthday cards, hospital picnic, service excellence awards and service award events and assists with set-up and planning as needed.
  • Responds to agencies and creditors with employment verifications in a timely manner.
  • Manages subpoenas or Iron Mountain record requests.
  • Assists with payroll data entry changes and manages PAF's.
  • Supports employee health when either RN's are out.
  • Provides assistance to the HR Generalist in the general orientation process. May include processing paperwork, making files, job fair organization, and clerical assistance.
  • Provides assistance to the HR Generalist in the general orientation process. May include printing lunch vouchers, name tags and agendas, ordering catering or assisting with welcoming guests.
  • Coordinates breaks and time off between HR assistants to assure appropriate coverage at the front desk.
  • Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess situation, consider alternatives and choose the appropriate course of action.
  • Identifies areas of concern, problems; provides input for resolution.
  • Strives to recognize personal strengths and weaknesses, handle person and professional frustrations appropriately.
  • Consistently displays proper tact and discretion when dealing with employees co-workers, and department directors.
  • Always maintains confidentiality with regard to HR matters.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to maintenance of a positive and effective working relationship with other hospital department staff.
  • Inspires confidence from co-workers and other department staff by performing and communicating in a highly professional manner at all times.
  • Consistently organizes and executes tasks and duties with minimal direct supervision in order to maintain optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Consistently reports to work on time and does not abuse break times.
  • Consistently maintains a neat, professional appearance.
  • Does not abuse hospital sick leave policy/allowance.
  • Has a thorough understanding of hospital fire, safety and disaster regulations.
  • Provides other HR support as needed when approved by the HR director.
  • Consistently projects the hospital's positive, care image in all patient, business and community interactions.
  • Manages all contract files and input in ADP, IT requests and terminations.
