About The Position

The HR Assistant will assist the Human Resources Director with specialized administrative tasks, including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing records, performing HR audits, and generating reports. Kuukpik Corporation was established in 1973 under the provisions of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). It owns the surface rights to portions of the Colville River Delta, located 50 miles west of Prudhoe Bay. Kuukpik Corporation successfully negotiated a comprehensive surface-use agreement. This agreement established provisions for education, training, preferences in contracting, employment, and the environment for the village of Nuiqsut. Responsibilities

  • Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, and other key details.
  • Maintains accurate records of active job openings and applications; manages job postings.
  • Review applications for entry-level and non-exempt positions; schedule preliminary interviews.
  • Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes.
  • Assists with administering employee benefits, including collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to insurance carriers or brokers.
  • Supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefits plans.
  • Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
