About The Position

New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is a CARF-accredited, nonprofit provider of outpatient mental health and substance use treatment services. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time HR Assistant to support our Human Resources department. This role involves assisting with various HR functions, including onboarding, record maintenance, recruitment support, training tracking, payroll and benefits administration, and general administrative tasks. The position offers an opportunity to gain experience in Human Resources within a mission-driven behavioral health organization.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business, or a related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous administrative or HR experience preferred
  • Experience with BambooHR or HRIS systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding and new hire paperwork
  • Maintain employee records and HR files
  • Support recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews
  • Track employee trainings, certifications, and compliance requirements
  • Assist with payroll and benefits administration tasks
  • Prepare HR correspondence, reports, and employee communications
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR Manager
