About The Position

This role provides administrative support within the Human Resources department, focusing on data entry, benefits administration, onboarding, and compliance. The HR Administrative Assistant will manage HRIS information, assist with employee lifecycle processes, and contribute to various HR initiatives and events.

Requirements

  • Working experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses strong presentation skills with experience presenting to small groups.
  • Possesses excellent data entry skills requiring accuracy and attention detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Understands and is committed to the hospice philosophy.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Human Resources or Business preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative assistant position in Human Resources preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enters information into the HRIS system, including certifications, competencies, checklists, insurance, and licenses. Runs reports to ensure compliance requirements are up to date and notifies employees and supervisors of late items.
  • Assists with the administration of benefits, medical leaves, new hires, and processing of terminations.
  • Assists with the review of incoming applications and resumes, phone screens, interview scheduling, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Schedules employee performance evaluations in the HRIS system, monitors timely completion, and follows up as needed.
  • Meets with new hires to complete fingerprinting, review benefits, and other onboarding requirements.
  • Creates new employee personnel files, name badges, and other materials for new employee orientation.
  • Presents assigned material to new employees during new employee orientation.
  • Works with nurses to complete the process for obtaining their Michigan License.
  • Completes incoming employment verifications and other requests.
  • Runs attendance reports and assists with the preparation of attendance write-ups for supervisors.
  • Assists with the coordination and scheduling of employee events, meetings, and wellness program activities.
  • Ensures filing is completed weekly and manages terminated employee files.
  • Responds to employee questions and/or concerns in a timely manner, researches and resolves issues, and follows up as appropriate.
  • Ensures supervisor is aware of any issues adversely affecting employees.
  • Assists with special projects and other HR initiatives.
  • Complies with all required annual agency competencies and attends agency meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
