About The Position

The Ascendancy Group is seeking Higher Headquarters Assessment Team Members to support the US Army Headquarters Installation Management Command (HQ IMCOM) Provost Marshal/Protection Support Services (PMPS) program, which enhances force protection readiness across U.S. Army installations. As part of a multidisciplinary team of Subject Matter Experts, you will conduct 7–10 annual installation assessments that help garrisons align with Army Protection Program standards and strengthen their ability to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to, and recover from emerging threats. Team members review installation documentation, interview personnel, inspect facilities, evaluate related protection functions, and identify cross-domain trends that support both immediate improvements and enterprise-level policy updates. Throughout each assessment, you will educate, guide, and advocate for installation personnel—ensuring they understand requirements, can execute best practices, and receive clear, actionable recommendations. Your work directly informs IMCOM’s protection posture by shaping training, guidance, and modernization across the enterprise while delivering high-quality assessments, daily synchronization insights, and a final HHA report that strengthens installation preparedness.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET Security Clearance is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience conducting US Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Provost Marshal/Protection Support Services Higher Headquarters Assessments (HHA) inspections and assessments.
  • Demonstrated expertise and familiarity with 1 or more Protection Program areas evaluated during Higher Headquarters Assessments (HHAs); Risk Management, Antiterrorism, Physical Security, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, CBRNE, COOP, Communications and Network Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Supporting Infrastructure and OPSEC.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Control Plans (QCPs), including procedures for inspections, discrepancy identification, corrective actions, root-cause analysis, trend analysis, and customer feedback management.
  • Experience managing performance-based projects and/or programs with multiple Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) performance locations.
  • Ability to travel to Continental United States and Outside the Continental United States US Army Installation locations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a core member of a 6–10 person HHA assessment team conducting 7–10 installation assessments annually across U.S. Army garrisons.
  • Review installation documentation prior to travel and coordinate with garrison staff to ensure smooth assessment preparation and effective engagement upon arrival.
  • Conduct structured interviews, facility inspections, document reviews, and observation of Protection Program processes including AT, PS, EM, Cyber, and related mission areas.
  • Educate, guide, and advocate for installation personnel by clarifying Protection Program requirements, teaching best practices, and helping teams prioritize realistic and achievable improvements.
  • Analyze installation-level protection posture and identify cross-domain trends, systemic gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities for modernization.
  • Contribute to enterprise-level improvements by synthesizing trends across multiple installations and informing updates to IMCOM policies, training, and Protection Program guidance.
  • Support development of daily synchronization findings, out-brief materials, and the final HHA report capturing risks, strengths, and actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure program performance aligns with PWS expectations and supports high-quality assessment delivery, data accuracy, and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate with IMCOM HQ leadership and installation teams to translate assessment findings into practical roadmaps for improving compliance, resilience, and overall Protection Program effectiveness.
  • Support coordination across geographically dispersed SMEs, subcontractors, and installation stakeholders to maintain consistent communication, disciplined execution, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist in producing high-quality documentation, briefings, and analysis products that reflect rigorous assessment methodology and inform enterprise-level decision making.
