About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing various building systems and structures. This includes electrical wiring and circuits, plumbing systems, furniture, cabinets, windows, floors, ceilings, and other structural components. The role also involves performing renovation work, preventive maintenance inspections, and general cleaning of facilities. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two to four years of relevant experience.
Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Class E Driver’s License is required.
Criminal background check required.
Physical examination required.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades.
Four (4) years of appropriate experience (with a high school diploma).
Working knowledge of computers and asset management systems.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades, mechanical, and repair work.
Knowledge of safety procedures and requirements in maintenance and repair work.
Skilled in hand tools and equipment.
Ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair existing wiring and electrical circuits.
Install wiring and fixtures.
Locate power failures and short circuits.
Repair and/or replace plumbing systems or their components.
Repair or replace worn or damaged faucets, flush valves, urinals, and water closets.
Perform skilled work in repairing furniture, cabinets, windows, screens, floors, ceilings, stairs, structures, and equipment.
Install ceiling tiles and grid.
Install flooring (vinyl sheeting and tile), wall base, chair rails, molding around doors, windows, and crown molding.
Perform renovation work and repairs to existing structures, including installing or relocating doors, windows, walls, and flooring.
Install and repair doors, mortise locks, hinges, exit devices, door closures, door vents, and glass door panels.
Perform maintenance on interior and exterior walls and floors using appropriate masonry materials.
Repair, replace, and install ceramic tile.
Perform preventive inspections on buildings, equipment, and entrance doors.
Generate monthly preventive maintenance reports.
Clean halls, offices, shops, restrooms, conference rooms, labs, elevators, and stairwells.
Sweep, dust, dust mop, wet mop, spot mop, clean waste and recycle bins, clean water fountains, door matting, and spot wash walls, doors, and partitions.
